In this course, you will learn a variety of advanced techniques to help you take your Excel skills to the next level.
We’ll start by introducing the course and getting you set up for success. Then, we’ll dive into some advanced shortcut keys that will make navigating and using Excel even faster and more efficient. You’ll also learn about tracing precedents and dependants, which can be incredibly helpful when working with complex formulas. We’ll also explore the watch window and show formulas features, which will allow you to closely monitor and troubleshoot your formulas.
Once we’ve covered these foundational skills, we’ll start diving into some of the more advanced functions and features of Excel. We’ll work with name ranges, and learn about the IF function and its variations such as AND, OR, and nested formulas. You’ll also learn about COUNTIF, SUMIF, and MIN functions, which will allow you to perform advanced calculations on your data. We’ll then move on to the VLOOKUP and INDEX MATCH functions, which are incredibly useful for finding and retrieving specific data from large tables. We’ll also cover some advanced techniques for working with dates, and learn how to use the REPLACE and SUBSTITUTE functions to modify text.
In the final section of the course, we’ll delve into some more advanced Excel features. You’ll learn about the LEFT, RIGHT, and MID functions, which allow you to extract specific characters from a string of text. We’ll also cover the SEARCH function, as well as how to concatenate and search within text. We’ll then delve into the INDIRECT function and learn how to use it both statically and dynamically. We’ll also cover the GOAL SEEK feature, which allows you to find the input value that results in a specific output. You’ll also learn about data tables, which are a powerful tool for performing sensitivity analysis on your data. Finally, we’ll wrap up the course by learning how to use the solver feature to optimize complex problems.
